Can this be used to produce a armature in which can be used to sculpt on as either a Voxel mesh or normal polygon mesh that has been auto topology produced (low poly base mesh). Im checking out the Curve tool right now. The Sphere tool works pretty well too, it lays down a blob of clay.Ĥ. The curves tool is what you're looking for. I pretty much use 3DC for almost everything it can do, with a heavier focus on painting, sculpting and baking.ģ. I used v2 a lot, v3 a lot, off and on with v4. I know you were not directing the question at me, but more experiences from many is better, right?ġ. I have a few questions if you dont mind answering.ġ: How long have you used Zbrush for Vs Coat, what is your main use for it?Ģ: When you said Coat has more freedom to concept sculpt, can you expand on this please?ģ: Does Coat have methods to create base meshes fast posable compared to Zbrush Zspears?Ĥ: Can Coat sculpt on the basis of mesh sub d sculpting with adjustable levels on the fly, working and retaining the original base mesh, if so how does it compare in terms of polygon count, how high can it go while remain smooth in opperation? Overall i think zbrush has more features, but i just dont find it fun to use anymore. but over time i found it clumsy and unintuitive and literally found i had to watch hours of tutorials to keep up.

when z brush first came out i thought it was so innovative. the coat UI is fastly superior to zbrush. you can right click and export entire voxel hierachy out as an obj which you can open as tool in zbrush and split to subtools. even tho it saves your info almost always. way more freedom in coat to concept sculpt. coat doenst have the nice deformation tools of zbrush, but some of the surface brushes can mimick it. by default z brush sculpt brushes feel nicer but you can tweak coat to feel more or less the same. coat is better IMO in areas of retopo, uvs, sub tools, painting textures. coat has a ton of very innovative features but its WAY more intuitive than z brush.

You will find it less necessary with 3d coat. Z brush has way more commercial training, but that because its so complicated.
